In the Art of War, Sun Tzu recommends turning your enemy's strengths into weakness. Often easier said than done. Here in Phoenix, we're about to go to war with Summer, and we motorcyclists need a plan. Summer's weapon? Heat. Not just any heat, but an oppressive heat that relegates many motorcycles to the garage until the friendlier temperatures of Fall arrive. Summer doesn't have to win though, and here's why.
Check out all of our LDComfort Gear!
LDComfort, maker of rider comfort undergarmets, has developed the Comfort Cool Sleeve that takes Sun Tzu's advice to heart. Using the heat of Summer, the Comfort Cool Sleeves leverage evaporation to cool the rider. Simply wet the sleeves, put them on under your riding jacket, and open your vents to get airflow from your wrists up through the jacket sleeves. Adjust your vents so that the cool air fills your jacket but doesn't escape. Voila! The effect is stunning.
On a recent ride from Phoenix to Tucson, I donned the sleeves under a heavy dual sport jacket. The temperatures hovered in the high 90's, but I actually got a little chilly at times, and had to zip up my wrist vents. LDComfort rates the sleeves effective to 120 degrees. The sleeves use a high tech material that allows for the evaporation effect, but doesn't get your arm wet inside the sleeve. Innovative!
With the right plan and equipment, Phoenix motorcyclists can defeat Summer's efforts to keep our bikes off the road.
The LDComfort Cool Sleeves can be found locally at Go AZ Motorcycles in North Scottsdale.

Satisfied Customer
Just tried out my LDComfort shirt, helmet liner, and the First Gear Kilimanjaro jacket and had to write to you. The combination of LDComfort and textile was amazing, even here in the humidity of central Florida. I was very cool for about and hour, and then could feel it warming up a bit (but I was never hot). It was probably time to rehydrate, but I just ended the ride at that point, with a huge smile on my face. Thanks Mark, I'm now looking forward to summer riding in Florida.
