SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.  (July 1, 2010) - Scottsdale's first major development project of the year isn't a restaurant or clothing outlet – no, the distinction goes to Go AZ Motorcycles, which is building Arizona's first-ever Motorcycle Mall in the Scottsdale Airpark.

Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane and Go AZ CEO and Founder Bob Parsons participated in what is believed to be the most unconventional groundbreaking ceremony in recent history.

Yes, there were the obligatory dignitary shovels, architectural drawings and heavy construction equipment; but what made this event unlike others was the entertainment – motorcycle stunt riders throttling their way through airborne maneuvers, a fashion show and an on-site "bike and parts swap."

The new Motorcycle Mall is planned to be built over the next eight months and will cover 45,000 square feet, expanding the already established Go AZ Motorcycles facility at 15500 N. Hayden Rd.  In addition to becoming a "destination location," the project will provide a boost to the ailing construction industry because Go AZ Motorcycles is using all Ariz.-based contractors.

Parsons, the motorcycle mogul behind Go AZ's motorcycle magic, is also the CEO and Founder of GoDaddy.com. He’s the same entrepreneur who risked millions of dollars to launch a 2005 Super Bowl advertising campaign, a strategy now renowned in college marketing textbooks.

When it comes to his motorcycle venture, Parsons is applying the same tried-and-true business principals that made his Internet company a world leader – great products, low prices and unrivaled customer service. The philosophy is already proving effective. Go AZ, now one of the biggest motorcycle dealerships in Ariz., has grown in spite of a significant dip in motorcycle sales nationwide.[1]

"Go AZ isn't just a place to buy a motorcycle - it's a lifestyle destination," Parsons said.  "The Valley needs a place where motorcycle enthusiasts can enjoy the full experience - whether it's trying new gear, sharing information, participating in events, meeting up with fellow bikers or just hanging out, this place has it all!"

Mayor Lane was all smiles at today's ceremony. "This is an exciting development for Scottsdale – it's unlike anything else we have in the city and we think this will draw people from throughout the entire southwest," said Mayor Lane.

"Motorcycles are exciting," Parsons explained. "When you're on a motorcycle, you're on the edge; it makes you feel like a kid again, no matter how old you are. I think we're going to get Mayor Lane on two-wheels here yet today!"
